  • 200 g flour
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 3 pieces eggs Use room temperature for fluffier cake
  • 100 ml milk Can substitute with almond or soy milk for dairy-free option
  • 80 ml olive oil Can substitute with melted butter for richer flavor
  • Salt Salt To taste
  • Black pepper Black pepper To taste

  • 100 g ham Freshly diced for best flavor
  • 100 g cheese Full-flavored cheese like Gruyère or Comté recommended

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, and olive oil until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in the diced ham and grated cheese into the mixture, being careful not to over-mix.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Let the cake salé cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, ideally with a fresh salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Can also freeze for a month. Thaw at room temperature and reheat before serving.
