Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the cubed chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Stir in caramelized onions and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions, then drain.
Combining Ingredients
- In the skillet, combine chicken, onions, cooked orzo, chicken broth, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
Serving
- Garnish with fresh thyme before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C).
