  • 3 pieces courgettes (zucchini) Choose firm, vibrant green zucchinis.
  • 150 ml cream Can substitute with almond milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 100 g grated cheese Consider using a blend of cheeses like Gruyère and cheddar.
  • 2 pieces eggs For a vegan version, replace with silken tofu blended with nutritional yeast.
  • 1 clove garlic Minced.
  • 1 tbsp butter For sautéing the zucchini.
  • Salt To taste.
  • Black pepper To taste.
  • 1 pinch nutmeg For added flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the zucchini into thin rounds.
  3. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat and lightly sauté the zucchini for about 3–5 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the cream, eggs, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Arrange the sautéed zucchini in a greased baking dish, pour the cream mixture over the top, and sprinkle generously with grated cheese.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Serve alongside a fresh green salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for best results.
