Preparation
  1. Toast the bread to a golden and crisp texture using a toaster, oven, or pan.
  2. For sweet tartines, spread your choice of creamy base (ricotta, Greek yogurt, etc.) onto the toasted bread.
  3. Add a sweet layer of honey or jam, followed by your choice of fresh fruit on top.
  4. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped nuts or a pinch of salt.
  5. For savory tartines, spread goat cheese, add sliced tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle salt and pepper.
  6. For a ham tartine, butter the warm toast, layer with thin slices of ham, and top with cornichons.
  7. For the mushroom tartine, sauté mushrooms with garlic, olive oil, and butter, then pile onto the toast with optional soft cheese.
Serving
  1. Serve tartines immediately while warm and crispy.
